I have made healthier eating choices. We always hear that we need to eat smaller meals throughout the day. This never work for me. I was always hungry. I would eat me a nice big breakfast and a nice big dinner. I wouldn’t over-eat, but I was satisfied.

I know that doctors throw this at us all the time; lose some weight and your joints will feel better. I sometimes believe this is there 2nd line of defense when they can’t help us. I was never a big woman; but I would get around 15 to 20 pounds overweight. It was in the past 10 years that I reach that 50 pound mark and wanted to do something for me. Gaining weight has caused me to develop diabetes, high cholesterol and high blood pressure. I have come too far to go out like that.

This is some of what I ate on this journey. I have lost 40 pounds, but have 10 more to go.

My One Week Menu

Monday

Breakfast – 2 eggs, 2 slice bacon, 1 cup blue berries,  2 cups coffee

Snack – Apple

Lunch – Bowl of Veggie Chili

Dinner – Steamed Shrimp, Sweet Potatoes

Snack – Orange

Tuesday

Breakfast – Cup Oatmeal with berries,

Lunch,  2 cups coffee

Snack – Apple

Dinner – Baked Chicken, Cauliflower,

Snack – Almonds

Wednesday

Breakfast – 2 eggs, 2 slice bacon, 1 slice toast, 2 cups coffee

Lunch – Bowl of Vegetable Soup

grill cheese

Dinner – Spaghetti Squash with Meatballs

Snack – apple

Thursday

Breakfast – 1 waffle, 2 slices bacon, 2 cups coffee

Lunch – Bowl of Chili , Toss Salad

Dinner – BBQ Chicken Breast with No Skin, Green Beans

Snack – apple

Friday

Breakfast –  2 eggs, 1 sausage link, 2 cups  coffee

Lunch – veggie burger, cup soup

Dinner – Steak and Salad

Snack – popcorn

Saturday

Breakfast – Bowl Cereal, 1 banana

Lunch – Tuna Fish Sandwich, 1 small bag chips

Dinner – steam shrimp, roasted brussel sprouts

Snack – Almonds

Sunday

Breakfast – banana, 2 cups coffee

Lunch – soup and salad

Dinner  – Baked fish, broccoli,  coleslaw

Snack – Popcorn
